You know, how I had a fantastic birthday at Blooms, the coffee shop at Eros Hotel, managed by Hilton? Yeah, it totally rocked. Well, naturally,
I was thrilled to accept an invite to be a part of a Blogger’s Lunch at Blooms to kick off an Italian Food Festival.
There was plenty of conversation and excellent food that filled our table and made for a fun and interesting Thursday afternoon.
Antipasti that Appealed…A Lot
Let me begin by saying, that the antipasti had me floored. Why? Because it had me a completely non-eggplant-eating person heading for a second helping of the Stuffed Aubergine. Think of tender slices of aubergine stuffed with sundried tomatoes and smoked cheese. Yes, it was that good. Check it out below!
Other than that, if you’re there, you must try the parma ham and melon, the bresalo with ricotta and the bocconcini with grilled vegetables. They are all made beautifully, filled with flavor and presented with elegance.
Bring on the Main Course
After sampling the antipasti, I was naturally excited about the main course. Yes, I live for food.
I wasn’t disappointed.
The Spinach Flan with Parmesan fondue is to die for. It melts in your mouth and is most delicately flavored, making it a real winner. Plus, check out how gorgeous it looks!
The Saffron risotto was heavenly with subtle tones of saffron creating magic on your palate and the corn fed chicken with roast potatoes was tender and filled with flavor. I enjoyed the rack of lamb as well with flat beans and shallots but felt that the lamb could probably have been a bit more tender and with a richer, fuller flavor.
If you are a vegetarian, you’ll be pleased and flattered with the loveliness that awaits your platter at the Blooms. The vegetarian selections pretty much rocked the house for everyone at the table.
Tying it All Up with a Tiramisu
Dessert was the traditional Italian favorite, a tiramisu. It looked beautiful and tasted lovely too, yet the distinctive espresso flavor was somehow, a tad too light for my coffee-lovin’ tastebuds.
So, if you’re looking for a flavor-filled way to spend the weekend and most importantly, sample Italian cuisine that isn’t just a jazzed up version of pizzas and spaghetti (no offense to spaghetti though!), head over to Blooms, at the Eros Hotel Managed by Hilton, for some excellent Italian cuisine prepared by Chef Stefano and team. The promotion will be on at Blooms till the 6th of November, 2011.
Stay tuned about the other special food-related promotions at the Eros Hotel, managed by Hilton by following them on Twitter and connecting with them on Facebook.
