How Writing for Suite 101 Makes Me Money: A Guest Post on About Freelance Writing

Two writing-related posts in a row, I know! But I had to share this with all of you. I’ve always written about how Suite 101 was the first site I started writing for and how I’ve immensely enjoyed being a part of the writer’s community there.

Recently, I got the chance to guest post on Anne Wayman’s About Freelance Writing site (***happy dancing***) and share how writing for Suite 101 makes me money. I talk about how the three pillars of Suite 101 editors, writers and tutorials enable aspiring writers to learn about SEO, writing for a revenue share network, understand and improve upon the craft of writing for the web. Moreover, being a part of such a diverse and talented community of editors and writers helps you to learn about more writing opportunities, working productively and share best practices. All of this basically translates into more money from writing online. When you’ve built a portfolio and established credibility, it is easier for clients to trust you, pay you what you ask for and come back to you for more work.

So, head on over to Anne’s site to read the entire post and share your Suite stories and experiences in the comments. See you there!

  1. Congrats on another guest post. I went over there and read it. I’m so happy you are doing so well with Suite101 and that you are getting a lot of additional work for good pay. It does take time to build up a writing career, but it looks like you are doing an excellent job of it. I wish you continued good luck! :)

    • Hi Deanna,
Thanks for the kind words and good wishes! S101 may not be for everyone but am really enjoying the education, income and the exposure that its giving me. I was glad to read that you, too, are having good success with the site! All the best and happy writing.

  2. I’ve just started writing copy for suite 101 and had 5 articles published this week. I can’t say what the results will be. My reasons are:
    1) passive income
    2) publicity for my own copywriting and web design business
    3) improve my search engine optimisation skills.

Good luck, I really like your style of writing by the way, cheerful and easy to understand.

Hi littlea. Congrats on starting with S101 and am glad to see that you have your goals in place for what you want from the site. Am sure you wouldn’t be disappointed. All the best and do let me know if can help you with anything.

  3. Prerna,

Hi there! I headed over to Suite101 and was wondering if you are still finding it as a successful resource for extra income?

    • The Mom Writes says:

Hi Lynda, sorry for the delayed reply. No, unfortunately, I no longer write over there and haven’t done so in a LONG time. It was good while it lasted. :-)

      • Prerna,

No worries re: the delayed response. Thank you for getting back to me. I see there site is currently under construction (for new writers that is). They are building a new site and not accepting any new writers.
